Run it Twice

1. The option to run it twice occurs when everyone in the hand is all in or no further betting is possible by any player in this game.

2. It is much more common for a hand to be run twice between two players (heads up) instead of a multi-pot with three or more, although it’s still possible.

3. Obviously this option is only available if the river card has not yet been dealt. However, you can choose to run it twice at any stage, whether it’s pre-flop, on the flop or on the turn.

4. All players still involved in the hand have the ‘Run It Twice’ option checked.

5. The “Run it Twice” button will always appear just above or below the “sit out next hand” button.

6. A player has to enable “Run it Twice” individually on each table he plays at.

7. Side-Pot Condition:

In case there are players with small stacks (less chips) and other players with bigger stacks (more chips). The players with low stacks go all-in but they have not opted for run-it twice option. And the players with big stacks have opted for the run-it twice option. Then side pots would be created because only the players with big stacks will be dealt two boards.

Run it twice Side Pot Case: 1

Suppose there are 4 players on the table:

Player A (1000 chips)
Player B (1000 chips)
Player C (4000 chips)
Player D (4000 chips)

Player A & Player B have low stacks and their “run it twice” option is not checked.

Player C & Player D have high stacks and their “run it twice” option is checked.

All players go “All In”.

In this scenario, the board will be run twice for 2 pots – one of 4000 and one of 6000.

For pot (4000): Run it twice will not happen for this pot. Because in this pot Player A & Player B chose not to click on “run it twice”.

For pot (6000): Run it twice will happen for this pot, since Players C and D chose to click on it.

Run it twice Side Pot Case: 2

If there are 4 players on the table:

Player A (5000 chips)
Player B (5000 chips)
Player C (1000 chips)
Player D (1000 chips)

Player A & Player B have big stacks and their “run it twice” option is not checked.

Player C & Player D have low stacks and their “run it twice” option is checked.

All players go “All In”.

In this scenario, the board will not be run twice and 2 pots will be created, one of 4000 and another of 8000.

Reason: Players A & B have big stacks, they contributed chips towards both pots and they chose to keep their “run it twice” option unchecked.

Run it twice Side Pot Case: 3

If there are 2 players on the table:

Player A (5000 chips)
Player B (3000 chips)
Player C (1000 chips)

Player C chooses not to click on his “run it twice” option and goes “All In”.

Player B clicks on the “run it twice” option and goes “All In”.

Player A clicks on the “run it twice” option and “Calls”

In this scenario, the board will be run twice and 2 pots will be created.

Reason: Player A’s “Call” because he has more chips than the others and no further betting is possible.
